Well today has been a steady day. Since yesterday was a lot on the babies, today was a day to just work on feeding. They are all still trying to learn how to eat, which with breast feeding they are doing great with.
My milk came in last night, and is flowing like the Nile today. Praise The Lord. They all do extremely well nursing so I am very thankful for that. I also have the best lactation department ever. The director visits me every day, and has guided me on this for great success. :). So far so good.
The babies billirubins went up quite a bit today, but just under the amount for te billy lights. So they will check them again in the morning. They have all lost a little weight during first couple of days, and now we are playing catch up. Baby C is our BIG eater. This is surprising, considering he was our littlest one for so long during pregnancy. They all will be seen by their pediatrician tomorrow, and possibly the pediatric urologist for their procedures. The NICU nurse asked of we would like our last night to be with them in a room together to see how everything goes, and of course we said yes. If I get released before they do, then we will hopefully be put in one of the NICU parent stay rooms. They have some available so we are going to take them up on that if we need to. So far my doctor is watching me, mainly because of the swelling. She said I probably will be released tomorrow or Tuesday depending on my progress.
Some of the nurses had been saying, "oh you'll go home by Monday with the babies." Umm, no that is not even realistic right now. The neonatologist said, don't be surprised if they are in here at least a couple of weeks. This all takes time, and each day it is something new. One thing that is showing up today is reflux type symptoms. :( This made me have a little breakdown today, cause they all remind me of my precious Beau. He had severe creeping reflux, and let me tell you...it was not fun at all. So, taking each day at a time, and facing each challenge as it comes. Our babies are pretty healthy compared to some of the others we see everyday, which I have to share is heart breaking. Some do not even have pare to up here. :( Anyway, please be praying that our boys be healthy, and surpass each milestone expected to be able to leave NICU. *i think what might be causing the reflux is the formula they also include after I breastfeed. Hopefully, now that my milk came in, we can take out the formula. Beau never could take formula either.
As for Momma and Daddy, we are doing good, and taking notes. :) Rusty does so good with the babies, and we make a really good team. I wish I had a camera every time we were doing what we do, Mom and dad of triplets. Rusty usually has a little bottle in his front pocket, a burp cloth on his shoulder, and a diaper in the other pocket. It's pretty cute. Oh, and this beanie on his head. Lol, he gets cold up here I guess....lol, not really. He uses it to get shut eye I think. We miss our little turkey, Beau so much. But, thankfully, he is having fun and doesn't miss us.
I will try and snap some pics when I can, cause they are so stinkin adorable.
Blessings and thank you so much for all the prayers. The triplets are so precious and I love them to pieces already. I remember my friend saying once, "How can you love another child besides your first as much?" Well I was thinking the same thing until now, and really it is crazy, but you heart grows even bigger.
Pic 1, 2, and 3 are with Baby C - Luke :)
Pic 4 is of Baby B and we are still finalizing his name.
