One thing that I do, and have done, for years is read devotionals. I use to be very diligent about it, because it always helped fill up my tank. But, now with four kids I rarely have time. When I do have time I always thank God for giving me the time to be with HIM. Time is precious, and I'm trying to be more thoughtful about my small moments, small things in life, and everything in general. I always thought I was a very cherishable type of person. What I mean by that is, I cherished moments, memories, and most of all people in my life. Going through a major life changing event here at age 32, I thought, Tiffany you lost that. All you can think about is what you have to do next. But, it is still there, and actually even stronger. I'm a analyzer, a thinker, so I've thought about this. Cherishing things that God has so graciously blessed me with is important.
What brought me to this is part of a devotional that I read today. As I left this morning to go study, I had to stop before pulling completely out of my driveway. I realized I hadn't read any my devotionals in days, and I felt like my tank was on fumes. So, I stopped, pulled out my favorite devotional book, and just opened it up. What I turned to was perfect.
God doesn't try and teach us through putting us in different situations throughout life. But, in those situations, HE is always there. We learn from life experiences. Sometimes difficult ones, sometimes ones that mature us, sometimes ones that gives us questions, sometimes ones that make us do a 180, and sometimes ones that draw us closer than we have ever been to God. Although, we may feel so far from HIM, we are actually with HIM. All the time. In every experience. Point being...the experiences in life are usually the learning points in our Faith. Like it said at the end of my devotional today...experience is often the best teacher. You have to go through, to learn, and to grow. They can either bring us closer, or pull us away.
Second thing that made me think of this is the past five years. Hold that thought, and I will get back with that. :) As I spoke to a teacher with 30 years of experience last night, and she is still going strong, and loving what she does. I told her that I'm pursuing this degree, because of my passion in it. I am a very passionate person, and this is one of the things that I am passionate about. Teaching. I'm not doing it for money. Been there, and done that. I'm doing it, because I am pasionate about it. What she said to me, is this, "this field takes people with passion." Without passion it will never work. You would never like or enjoy what you do. Thankfully, God is walking beside me every step of the way. Here five years later, and many hurdles, you would think this was not the path for me. But, it shows that it is definitely the path for me. It takes life experiences, to teach me and show me what I truly am passionate about. I am thankful for that.
Thankful for Jesus right now, and always. I can do this. God made me who I am, and knows all my flaws, but loves me anyway. I don't know why HE does, I'm unworthy, but humbled to know that my savior loves me unconditionally. He hasn't given up on me, and never will.
If any of this is you, or speaks to you, I'm glad I can share. Remember God created us, not for ourselves, but for others.
By His Grace,
Tiffany Ann
