Yesterday I wrote about my current issues, itchy hands and feet. I know this sounds like a problem a child would have, and it does seem so strange, but pregnancy can do some weird things to the body. Anyways, I called and spoke my OB's RN yesterday, and she got back with me yesterday afternoon and said Dr. H wanted to do some blood work on me and she put a STAT order on it. So, this morning I will be getting my blood work done as soon as they open.
In the meantime, while waiting for them to concur what the plan was going to be my sweet friend Jenn called me. Come to find out she had Cholestasis with one of her pregnancies. Long story short, she ended up trying an herb in pill form called dandelion root. So, I was desperate for relief and sent Russ to Dodson's to get the pills. I did do a little research on this herb to make sure it was safe, and my findings were not real clear on taking it while pregnant. Mainly cause it is not FDA approved. :/ Well I took it anyway during the day yesterday. What this herb does is clean out your gallbladder and liver, like a detox. Once I got to reading more about it on multiples websites I realized I shouldn't chance it by taking it. So, until I talk to Dr. H about it I will hold off. So glad I have sweet friends who share their own stories to try and help others who are desperate in their own situations. So thank you Jenn, you are such a blessing! :)
The other thing I should probably mention is my high risk dr office called during all this yesterday. I should say even though I was home all day yesterday it was dang sure a busy day. Anywho, I got to talking to them about it and they got their RN on the phone and she said they normally do not treat cholestasis with the medication that is out there, because it can cause more harm than good. :/ They just monitor daily, and when it came time to take babies they would. So, basically I am getting the feeling this will just add to the close eyes of monitoring on me, as maybe more blood work until babies are born.
On a good note my itching did not start until around 7 last night, and was not near as bad as it had been. Now I do not know if this was because I took the dandelion root all day yesterday, or because of prayer. Definitely believe the later part is part of it for sure. Last night I actually got some sleep. Praise The Lord! I need sleep now, cause I know I will not be getting any in a few weeks to a month from now, and for a while.
The other people that I was able to speak to yesterday was the lactation department at the hospital that I am having the babies at. Since I did breast feed my first child with no problem, and I always had plenty, they said that more than likely I will do great with the triplets. Praying for this big time. We also discussed my delivery plan and expectations, and I feel fully confident in this group being able to help me succeed in this. :)
Finally, my day ended with two of my sweet friends, Stacy and Aleisha, stopping by to visit and bring dinner. I do not see them near enough so it was a nice surprise. :) And thank y'all for dinner too. It was perfect!
Until tomorrow or later today, when I get some results.
And I have to say this, ALMOST 34 weeks. :)
Blessings!
Blessings to you - all!
